THE WEEK IN PHOTOS … AND VIDEO

Newsletter #84 / April, 7 2025

April, 2 - Sandusky, Ohio: “The Party of Lincoln” is a myth that has lived far too long. “It’s laughable that Republicans still try to claim Abe Lincoln as someone who represents their values when they have abandoned those values,” said Kevin Cardone, a Norwalk resident.

On Wednesday, Democrats faced off against Vitek Ramaswamy and the local Republican Lincoln Day Dinner with a message of their own. Dems 101 provided some of the signs. Thank you to Karen Prelipp for coordinating our presence.

The protest made the news in the Sandusky paper. Read the article here.

April 5 - Toledo, Ohio: The Democratic Creed is read by Janet Ritter during the Hands Off rally attended by over 4,000 people in Toledo. Thank you Janet.

April, 5 - Portsmouth, Ohio: Dems 101 was also present at the Hands Off rally in Portsmouth with large banners for Freedom, Justice and Opportunity. Thank you Tom Yeager for making this happened.

 Don’t forget

The Michigan Rural Summit is April 10-12th this year (next week!), at the Kewadin Casino, in Sault Saint Marie. DEMS101 will be there! Look for our information table, and visit our hospitality session. Our goal: inspiring and motivating attendees as we work to save our Democracy. Highlights will focus on the Democratic Creed, our beliefs, our values, and our use of the definitions of Freedom, Justice, and Opportunity. Lots of handouts will be available.

DEMS101 has been a fixture at the two previous Michigan Rural Summits. Jim Purvis, the author of “Democrats 101” gave the opening keynote speech at the inaugural Summit in 2023. We are carrying on a tradition.

We urge you to not only be there, but to look us up. We look forward to talking to you about democracy.
